IIM Logo Utilisation

Logo Utilisation Guidelines for IIM Members and other Organisations                    July 2014 
 
Use by IIM Members
 
The guidelines outlined in this document are to help develop uniformity on how Members of the Institute for Information Management Ltd (IIM) may use the IIM logo and their membership status on their business stationery, marketing material and advertising.
 
Members are encouraged to use the IIM logo and their membership status to profile and increase recognition for themselves and the Institute for the purpose only of showing that they are members of the Institute.
 
Members must not use the IIM logo in a way that holds the Institute out as promoting or endorsing products and/or services provided by Corporate and/or Individual Members or in promoting conferences, seminars and events without the prior written approval of the IIM.
 
Use by other Organisations
 
From time to time, organisations request the IIM to endorse particular conferences or events.
 
Subject to the Board of Directors being satisfied that the contents of a conference or an event are of a nature that:
 
  • will be of direct benefit to the membership, and
  • will not compromise the credibility and integrity of the IIM in the pursuit of its professional objectives, and
  • will not be in direct competition with IIM events.
 
The IIM Board may agree to endorse the conference or event together with the use of the IIM logo provided the following conditions are satisfied:
 
  • The organisation seeking endorsement must be an IIM Corporate Member
  • A minimum discount of 15% must be provided to IIM Members attending the endorsed conference or event
  • Distribution of any promotional material regarding the conference or event to IIM Members shall be via the IIM Website & IIM’s LinkedIn group
  • One free pass must be provided for use by a IIM Board / Committee member for the purposes of quality assuring the event OR for use by IIM as a promotional activity for financial membership to the Association.
  • Only one conference will be endorsed each IIM membership year (July – June) for non-corporate IIM members.
 
Use of the IIM logo for an endorsed event shall be in accordance with the requirements set out below for Corporate Members.
 
 
Corporate Members
 
Corporate Members may use the IIM logo and, together with the logo, refer to their membership as  - ‘IIM Corporate Member’
 
Alternatively, Corporate Members may choose not to use the logo and refer to their membership only as –  ‘IIM Corporate Member’
 
Corporate Members shall not use the IIM logo without reference to the above wording, unless they have notified the IIM that they wish to use the IIM logo without the words ‘IIM Corporate Member’ and have received prior written approval from the Board of IIM.
 
The typeface is to be Arial and point size is up to the Corporate Member’s discretion provided that the same cap height is used for all wording. No other variation is permitted without the written approval of the Board of IIM.
 
Any use of the cap height to create a perception in a person’s mind that the IIM is promoting, endorsing products and/or services or conferences, seminars or events (without the prior written approval of the IIM Board) is expressly forbidden. 
 
Individual Members
 
Individual Members may use the IIM logo and, together with the logo, refer to their membership as – ‘IIM Individual Member’  
 
Alternatively, Individual Members may choose not to use the logo and refer to their membership only as  - ‘IIM Individual Member’
 
Individual Members shall not use the IIM logo without reference to the above wording, unless they have notified the IIM that they wish to use the IIM logo without the words ‘IIM Individual Member’ and have received prior written approval from the Board of IIM.

Life and Fellow Members
 
Life and Fellow Members shall comply with these Logo Utilisation Guidelines for IIM Members and shall be entitled to use the following post-nominal –
 
Life Member      :        ‘IIM Life Member’
 
Fellow                 :        ‘Fellow IIM’ or ‘FIIM’
 
In all other respects, the Logo Utilisation Guidelines for IIM Members shall apply.
