Curtin University Department of Information Studies http://humanities.curtin.edu.au/schools/MCCA/information_studies/  has been teaching in the information studies area for over 40 years and in the mid 1980s introduced records management and archives degree programs.   The library and records programs are integrated at the undergraduate level to meet the industry demand for professionals qualified in both areas.

All courses are offered in a face to face environment and online, with very positive course recognition statements from the relevant professional associations: Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia (RIMPA), the Australian Society of Archivists (ASA) and the Australian Library & Information Association (ALIA).  The courses are also available through Open Universities Australia (OUA).

There is a practicum placement requirement in each course and this is arranged by the Department through its extensive national and international networks, to embed practice-based  professional knowledge which enhances the student’s learning experience. Information on our courses can be found at: http://humanities.curtin.edu.au/schools/MCCA/information_studies/courses.cfm
