IIM Privacy Statement

The Institute for Information Management Ltd (IIM) is committed to ensure the privacy of personal information which visitors to our site may supply us. As a general rule, we do not collect Personal Information* about you, unless you choose to provide such information to us, for example, by lodging an online application for membership, or registering online for any of our events.
 
*Personal Information is defined in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act as information about an individual which can identify who that individual is. Such legislation defines National Privacy Principles which govern the collection, use, storage and disclosure of personal and sensitive information.
 
From 21 December 2001 (the date of implementation of the above Act) when we request personal information from members of IIM, we will advise members for what purpose the information is to be used, and the range of organisations to whom such information may be disclosed.
 
Sensitive information is defined in the Act as being information regarding racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or details of criminal records, health or sexual preferences. IIM does not collect such sensitive information about its membership, nor about any visitor to our site.
