Dear Member,
It is May, and we have the collaborative 'Information Awareness Month' is a highly successful collaboration of many information professional groups these being:
Institute for Information Management (IIM)
Records Association of Australia, (RMAA)
Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)
National Archives of Australia (NAA) and
Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA),
These bodies have all worked with the commonality of purpose which reflects the fact that they are recognised as some of the most widely respected professional bodies in the information management community within Australasia.
The ACT is working towards building new collaborative initiatives and will be creating for future collaboration MOU's. These coming events have built a high degree of unity among the 7 participants and I am confident we are now working together and heading in the same direction to build better forums and events that will expand our member services. While it is important we are always respectful of IIM's past and our history I feel with this new collaboration that we will be better placed to fulfil our members needs.
The program for these events will form the Newsletter for this month.

KM, Content and Collaboration Australia 06
For the last two years Ark Group, through KM Australia, has delivered the region's knowledge management community with an annual knowledge sharing and networking event. Recently, our research has indicated to us trends throughout public and private sectors and across industries that highlight a movement towards convergence within the fields of KM, CM, and IM as strategic disciplines. The vital role that collaboration will play as this trend grows has prompted us to expand the event and incorporate content and collaboration into the overall programme. KM, Content and Collaboration Australia (KCC Australia) will offer you a thorough evaluation of the latent trends, thinking and technology around knowledge and content management and collaborative working.
